Raised in a highly political family, Jane has spent many years of her life engaged in action for social change. Traditional banner making is an art form that has more recently been neglected in favour of digitally produced products.

The banners Jane makes are often in collaboration with groups or organisations. Margaret Murray is Jane's creative collaborator and together they research, create and design textile banners reflecting social issues.
